    They have something …
They have something like this for USA today and Pop science on the ipad. They’re cool but each company does the user interaction different. So it’s a learning curve with each magazine to know what is clickable.

  2. @AaronBesson the …
@AaronBesson the ipad is not next gen touch tablet. It is the FIRST gen of a series of tablets already done by other companies. It’s not even a full computer (no multitasking or full version of computer apps) Don’t get me wrong I love the ipad, but it’s not that special technologically. The greatest thing the ipad has is a pretty package and a great app store.

    Yeah.
    Yeah.

  7. the problem with …
the problem with existing tablets is that they have horrible user interface and software.

the ipad (next gen touch tablets and user interfaces) hopefully will bridge the great hard ware with new software and user experience

the apple ipad will be like the iphone was, it will make apples competitors rethink their products and software.

even if you dont like the iPad (or iPhone) you gotta thank it for helping technology, software and user interfaces evolve through competition.

  14. I love to know, …
I love to know, from those who own laptop/tablet hybrids, how much time they spend using it just as a flat tablet ala the iPad. I suspect it is a small percentage. I’m guessing that one of the first things that iPad owners will do is buy a viewing stand and a keyboard and maybe a bluetooth touchpad.

    Totally …

    @dreburch
Totally agreed! I think the success of the iPad may depend more on what is done by third-party developers as opposed to the actual hardware itself.

  19. You know… if this …
You know… if this would’ve been shown at the iPad unveil event, I think I would have been a lot more excited about the iPad!

I wasn’t even going to get an iPad until I saw this! Seems like a very innovative way to experience media. I wonder if this is going to be compatible for the iPhone.

  25. I love how when …
I love how when during the demo, the ‘Game Alert’ pops up on the screen with ‘Dodgers’ spelled ‘Dogers’… SI misspells Los Angeles’ team name? And I’m first to catch it? LOL…
