Richard Dawkins and Thunderf00t (improved audio)
Late in 2009 I got together with Richard Dawkins for a chat. Nice chap and some stimulating conversation.
Sorry about the poor audio. The leading reason were that I was primarily in Europe to do research, and when I left the US 2 months before this was not something that was seriously considered (I had VERY little AV kit with me) and that the discussion was all arranged on very short notice. Many thanks to umbulamidlun, smpaudio and stormfieldproduction for help with the audio, it was greatly appreciated.
Richard Dawkins is of course a big name in the defenders of science, publishing several best selling books and started a foundation that bears his name.

Also, if all his arguments are logical fallacies and circular reasoning, I wonder why Dr. Dawkins seems so hesitant to debate him. Maybe because Dr. Dawkins prefers to put down Christianity by using big words to hypnotize his less intelligent followers and does not want to be challenged by someone with equal intelligence.

Thats interesting you say his arguments are logical fallacies and circular arguments considering all the people he has debated. Most of the people Dr. Craig debates hold PhDs and if his arguments were not credible, then why do so many respected people debate him. Christopher Hitchens has said that Dr. Craig is a well trained philosopher.

You can use logical scientific reasoning to debunk creationism – but to seek biological/psychological reasons for “why religion is so pervasive” takes you nowhere. Dawkins is right to steer Thunderfoot towards “historical forces” to explain the rise of Islam, but the cue is either missed or disagreed with? I feel as frustrated as I suspect Dawkins is here – you can’t use biology to explain the rise of fascism any more than you could to fight against it. Some crucial points lost here – shame..

There is a lot of loss in the sound, I would have used a subtle gate, attenuated bass and treb, tried some compression, comb filtered at about 50Hz and used RX de-noiser. Then re-synthesized the bass? Thunderfoot should invest in a decent microphone, maybe a Rode shotgun mic.
